Oh well, made several improvements to the rocket design. Now it can go to the moon, provided I can pilot it to get it there in one piece. Here it is:

After launch, side tank modules ran flat after 5-6 mins real time. Ejected. Rocket continued on before discarding the last fuel module upon reaching orbit altitude. Due to a stage misfire I ejected the 3 side tanks and rockets before using them. I managed to angle the rocket (Thanks SAS) to the proper orbit heading of 270 degrees, and reached the dark side of Kerbin for once.

Here's my orbit path. I mis-calculated and fired up the rocket too early, and too much, throwing my rocket into an almost teardrop-shaped orbit path, complete with failed timing, and the rocket never got close to the moon. This pic was before I launched away.

After straying of course this was the poor rocket, low on fuel.

| Uh oh. |
Aborted mission after running out of fuel, rocket never reached Kerbin's surface.
